Challenge 4 Change

On Wednesday, 19th July 2017, a group of students were selected to take part in the Challenge 4 Change programme called ‘Teammates Not Inmates’. This was a unique opportunity to develop self-discipline, communication skills and resilience.

Royal Air Force Helicopter Drops in to Manchester Academy

A Griffin helicopter, from 60 Squadron at Royal Air Force Shawbury in Shropshire, conducted some essential crew training in the North-West area on Wednesday, 12th July.

Manchester Academy Year 10 students who have been participating in the MCFC Pathways Programme were rewarded for their hard work with a reward trip to Laser Quest in Knutsford.

Royal Air Force Leeming ‘No Ordinary Job’ Event

On Thursday, 8th June, a group of Year 10 students went to the ‘No Ordinary Job’ event at RAF Leeming. This initiative was specifically aimed at students who are approaching the end of formal education and may be considering a career in the Armed Forces

Volunteer Police Cadet Unit

At lunchtime on Wednesday 10th May, representatives of the GMP (Greater Manchester Police) were in school to talk to students about the Volunteer Police Cadets.

20 students from Year 9 and Year 10 were chosen to take part in the Student Leadership Accreditation training this week.

RAF Cosford Visit

On Wednesday, 26th April, a small group of students and parents, accompanied by Mr Strickland and Miss Bowden plus one of our school Governors, Mr Singh, visited RAF Cosford in Shropshire to see how the Royal Air Force operates.
