At Manchester Academy we believe that all students should have the opportunity to have experiences outside of the curriculum. These opportunities are to help build character and broaden their understanding of future life, leading to a more rounded education and success. 

Our enrichment offer is broad and well-rounded an ensure that is inclusive for all students. All students can be involved in MA+ activities such as sports clubs, debate mate and drama society. Our MA+ Timetable is available on the website. 

We have magic breakfast clubs each morning from 8am. There are many in school activities like Macfest where students come to school in their cultural dress, world book day and listening to outside speakers on important topics. 

All students have the opportunity to go on trips outside of the school building such as our end of year pledge trips, and many more across curriculum areas like geography field trips and Duke of Edinburgh.  

At Manchester Academy we understand the importance of rewards and the impact that they have on our students.  We know that rewards help to motivate students, reinforce positive behaviour, enhance engagement and build confidence. 

Students receive rewards across all areas of the school from attendance, for being an ATL 1 learner, involvement in enrichment activities these rewards vary from certificates and badges to vouchers, being subject stars and being entered into prize draws for bigger rewards and different points of the academic year. 

Each member of staff hands out golden tickets in their lessons for students who are going above and beyond where they are entered into a fortnightly draw and handed a ticket to share with parents and guardians. 

Each Monday during the school day we have our own magic table which students are invited to for an exceptional achievement in or out of lessons. Students can share with staff why they are proud of their achievements and will receive a prize and postcard to take home.
