Our Y10 students took part in a successful mock interview day run by construction company John Sisk & Son Ltd. The event helped students learn about future careers and develop important employability skills.
Throughout the day, students took part in short interviews, workshops and practical activities. They showed excellent focus and enthusiasm, and many said they enjoyed the experience and learned something new.
Alongside the interviews, students joined extra activities, including:
- A careers presentation from SISK staff
- An engineering challenge using spaghetti towers
- A session on writing personal statements, led by our Post‑16 Lead, Ms Talai
Staff and visitors were very impressed by how confident and friendly the students were. One visitor said they felt “completely impressed” with how engaged the students were. Another visitor noted how many girls were interested in construction, engineering and architecture.
Our Careers Lead, Dr Wisdom, said: "Year 10 gave an outstanding account of themselves and our school, whether they were being interviewed by SISK apprentices, listening to a presentation about careers in construction, building spaghetti towers or writing personal statements."
