Manchester Academy Student Meet Challenge to 'Make Manchester Magic' with Record GCSE Success

Manchester Academy students have once again risen to the challenge of "Making Manchester Magic" after achieving a record set of GCSE results that will help open doors to exciting futures in Manchester and beyond.

The Class of 2026 has delivered the strongest GCSE performance in the school's history, with outstanding improvements across the board. This year saw an 11% increase in students achieving a Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths, alongside a significant rise in the number of students awarded the highest grades.

Among those celebrating exceptional success are:

  • Jawad, who achieved Grade 9s in all subjects
  • Afza, who achieved Grade 9s in all subjects
  • Zahra, who achieved five Grade 9s
  • Zubeyda, who achieved five Grade 9s
  • Luckman, who achieved five Grade 9s
  • Masiti, who achieved five Grade 9s

The results reflect not only academic excellence but also the determination, resilience and ambition shown by students throughout their time at Manchester Academy.

Mr Eldon, Principal, said:

"I am so proud of our students celebrating today. We set the highest expectations for our students and when we tell them their challenge is to ‘Make Manchester Magic’ we always believe and trust that they will do so."

"This year's results take us even further as a school and our students have truly delivered in style, with another substantial improvement on previous years."

"Everyone at the school shares our students' pride and wants to congratulate them on their success, which is testament to their hard work, the support they receive from their families, and the diligence and dedication of our fantastic staff."

"I am not only extremely proud of our highest performers like Jawad and Afza, but also of those students who joined us speaking no English and still achieved excellent grades, our amazing SEND cohort who have thrived, and the many students who have overcome significant challenges to succeed."

"Manchester Academy champions our community's children, and to share in their success today is wonderful. These results set them up to begin the next stage of their lives with the confidence, ambition and skills they need to thrive both in Manchester and beyond."

As a school committed to ensuring every child can succeed, Manchester Academy is proud that these results reflect the achievements of students from all backgrounds and abilities. We look forward to seeing what the Class of 2026 goes on to accomplish as they take their next steps into further education, training and employment.

Congratulations to all our students and their families on this outstanding achievement.

Make Manchester Magic. Where Winners Are Made.
