
Our Spanish curriculum aims to inspire students to become strong spoken and written communicators and understand extracts from a range of sources. Through a knowledge rich curriculum, students acquire in-depth understanding of the core vocabulary and grammatical structures to confidently use in a range of contexts.
The Spanish curriculum focuses on developing the key four language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. They will gain a systematic knowledge of the vocabulary, grammar, sound and spelling systems of their new language. They will have the opportunity to reinforce this knowledge and build their communication skills through extensive planned practise. The content of the new language is taught in a creative and stimulating way to widen students’ knowledge of the culture, history, and literature of speakers of Spanish. The ability to understand and communicate in another language is a lifelong skill for education, employment, and leisure in this country and throughout the world.
