Manchester Academy proudly hosted its first-ever Chatty Café recently, bringing parents, carers, and local partners together in a warm and welcoming space.
The event marked an exciting step toward building stronger community ties and creating opportunities for families to connect, share ideas, and access valuable support.
The launch attracted a full room of parents and carers, many arriving early to enjoy tea, coffee, and fresh bakery treats before the session began at 9:15am. This relaxed atmosphere sets the tone for a morning of meaningful conversations and collaboration.
Vice Principal Mrs McMullen opened the event by outlining the vision behind Chatty Café: a community hub where families feel heard, valued, and supported. She emphasised that the success of this initiative depends on working together to shape future activities that reflect the needs of our families.
One of our local banks joined us to share helpful financial tips and answer questions. Parents were highly engaged, showing a real interest in learning more about managing money and planning for the future.
Parents were highly engaged throughout the session, sharing ideas and completing feedback forms to guide future themes and workshops. Suggested topics included career advice, computing, English-language learning, wellbeing, and crafts. These ideas will help shape upcoming events and ensure Chatty Café continues to make a positive impact.
