Manchester Academy welcomed more than 200 families to its annual community Iftar last Thursday, creating an atmosphere filled with warmth, unity, and celebration. The event brought together students, parents, carers, staff, and community partners for an evening that highlighted the strength and diversity of the Manchester Academy family.
The Iftar was the result of a full week of preparation. Our dedicated community ladies played a central role, spending Thursday and Friday cooking an incredible selection of dishes that were enjoyed by all. Their contribution helped ensure the evening felt welcoming and authentic, reflecting the strong cultural ties within our community.
Staff across the school worked collaboratively to prepare the space, with teams supporting decoration, planning, and logistics to make sure every detail was considered. On the day, members of the Senior Leadership Team welcomed guests, served food, and spent the evening socialising with families. The teamwork demonstrated Manchester Academy’s commitment to fostering belonging and celebrating the cultures represented within the school.
The event was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback, with many families expressing their appreciation for the school’s continued effort to support and celebrate the wider community. One parent shared:
“This was great, this shows the respect of religions and support by the school. Great work, Manchester Academy High School & students as well.”

Another family member commented:
“This is brilliant, to see the interest the school has in the community shows how much you all care not just about the kids that attend your school but also the wider community.”
The success of this year’s Iftar reflects Manchester Academy’s MAGIC values in action: a motivated team working together, a globally‑minded community celebrating traditions, an inclusive school where everyone feels valued, and a shared commitment to providing meaningful experiences for families.
Manchester Academy looks forward to continuing this tradition and strengthening these important connections across the community.
