Planning and Preparation
Long before the big day, our dedicated staff began planning this special event. Gifts and prizes were donated for the festive raffle, and preparations were made for our school band to perform, our poem reading and a lively game of bingo, led by Mr M Hurst.
Arrival and Welcome
On the day, the academy truly came together. The site team ensured everything ran smoothly, Student Services staff decorated the hall beautifully, and the Attendance team drove our school minibuses to pick up guests from the local community.
Guests were warmly welcomed by academy students with hot drinks and friendly conversations, setting the tone for a joyful afternoon.
A Delicious Festive Feast
Our talented catering team served a mouth-watering roast dinner that everyone enjoyed. It was a wonderful opportunity for guests and students to share stories and laughter over a hearty meal.
Entertainment and Readings
After lunch, the entertainment began! Our school band delivered an energetic performance that had everyone smiling. Then, Tanika (Year 11) and Angie (Year 10) shared heartfelt readings about the importance of community and the spirit of giving during the festive season.
Games and Prizes
Guests joined in a lively game of bingo, followed by a festive raffle with plenty of prizes to go around. The excitement and laughter filled the hall as winners collected their gifts.
Words of Appreciation
Before the event concluded, Mr Eldon, Head of School, said:
“It’s wonderful to see our academy come together to celebrate and support our senior citizens. Events like this remind us that community is at the heart of everything we do.”
Farewell and Goodie Bags
Just in time from his busy schedule, Father Chris-tmas arrived to hand out goodie bags to our guests, adding a magical touch to the day. Each bag was filled with treats a small token of appreciation for their presence and contribution to our community spirit.
