Match Ticket Winner

Due to his excellent performance in the recent Year 9 football cup final, Abdulrahman was awarded tickets to watch Manchester United's final fixture at home to Crystal Palace. Congratulations Ad, well done!

Manchester United: Meet the Business

Well done to the Year 9 Computing students who travelled to Old Trafford to complete the final day of 'Manchester United: Meet the Business'. Over the last 6 months, the select group of students have been involved in the 3-day interactive project aimed at giving students an insight into how Manchester United operates as a business and the different jobs available at a football club.

On the third and final day, students took part in a variety of interactive workshops run by employees from the club’s various departments including sports science, catering and HR. As a nice end to the event, students were taken on an all-access-tour of the stadium.

Year 8 Hub Tournament

On Friday, 12th May, the Year 8 boys took the long trip up to Foundation partner school, The Oldham Academy North to compete in the 16/17 Year 8 hub tournament for the cup previously held by Manchester Academy.

Despite a tremendous display from the boys all round who represented Manchester Academy extremely well, the team narrowly missed out on the final stages of the tournament. Falling short only to goal difference (W2, D1, L1). A huge well done to the team who we are sure will be back to challenge the champions, Albion Academy for the cup next year.

Year 7 and Year 8 Girls’ 3-Team Tournament

Last week, Manchester Academy hosted the first leg of a 3-way tournament between local schools Loreto High School and Trinity High School. A massive well done to the girls, who similarly to the boys, were a great credit to the school.

The team will now look to build on a good start, when they travel to Loreto for the second leg. Congratulations also to the Year 10 and 11 young leaders (Dylan, Shanyia and Bassat) who helped officiate during the tournament.
