Primary pupils learn about healthy eating, T-shirt printing and enjoy a relaxation session

Year 5 students from St Philip’s Primary School learnt about healthy eating as part of their day visiting the Academy.

Mr Ross divided the class into groups and they learnt about different food groups and how to make sure they eat the right amount of carbohydrates, proteins, dairy, fruits and vegetables, oils and spreads and essential fats.

The pupils took part in a range of activities during their visit, which included a mini football tournament organised by the Manchester United Foundation, a T-shirt printing session, a relaxation session and a quiz about University, thanks to help from the MMU.

Our Year 7 students Mohammad Elanazi, Huda Bashe, Maryam Yussuf and Mohammad Hossain helped out as role models during the day.

Three St Philip’s Primary School students were given Manchester United postcards for making excellent contributions in class discussions and effort during the football session.

Mohammad Elanazi is pictured with the lucky trio, along with Mr Ross.
