British Schools Karting Championship 2017

Published on 17 May 2017

This year’s British Schools Karting Championship (BSKC) 2017 journey started on 25th January, 2017 at the TeamSport Go Karting Manchester Arena.

Two teams (3 students in each team – Manchester Academy A and Manchester Academy B) were entered in this year’s competition. The 6 students were selected on merit (good behaviour and attendance).

Both teams performed exceptionally well on the arena track, however only Manchester Academy B won through to the regional final. The regional final took place at the Three Sisters Race Circuit in Wigan on Monday, 24th April. That track is the ‘real deal’ – a full size outdoor track with go karts that go in excess of 50 MPH!

Manchester Academy B put up a valiant effort, but unfortunately did not progress further in the competition. All our students had a great experience and hopefully next we can take it a stage further.

Thank you to our students whose behaviour and sportsmanship were impeccable, a credit to Manchester Academy. Many thanks also to Ms Artingstall (Pastoral Support Worker) for her support and the BSKC for making the events happen.
