Exam Results 2012

Published on 03 September 2012

In a 10 year period the highest achievement by Ducie High School for the number of students gaining 5 A* - C GCSE grades was 13%. In just 9 years, Manchester Academy has achieved a record breaking 94% 5 A* – C GCSEs.

In August, the Academy was full of gleaming, proud faces as the GCSE students came to pick up their results. It was no wonder they were smiling, as they achieved the best GCSE results in the school’s history with 94% gaining 5 A* – C GCSEs.

In addition to this, a record 96% of students achieved 5 or more passes at grades A* – G, and a further astounding 100% achieved at least one pass at grades A* – G. These figures illustrate the continued significant improvement in results.

The chart and tables below show how students’ results have progressed since Manchester Academy opened. We are confident that this trend will continue over the coming years.

“I would like to congratulate all our students and staff who are celebrating success in their results today. Across the country we have had some excellent results which have given us an average improvement of 5%.

What is particularly pleasing is that students across the country at our academies have been achieving the grades needed to enter our Sixth Forms and continue their education at schools where they feel motivated, engaged, happy and able to succeed.

United Learning academies’ average for 2012 is 53.5% for 5+ A*-C GCSEs including English and Maths. This has increased from 48.5% in 2011 for all those schools receiving results today."
