Media
Why choose GCSE Media Studies?
Media Studies is both an academic and a practical subject. As such it has something to offer all types of students from the most erudite to the creatively gifted.
A study of the media naturally lends opportunity and scope for students to be involved in various projects throughout the year.In addition to helping students acquire subject knowledge, the GCSE course enables students to:
-
develop critical thinking and decision-making skills
-
develop appreciation and critical understanding of the role of the media in daily life
-
combine practical and theoretical knowledge and skills through opportunities for personal engagement and creativity
-
encourage an understanding of how to use key media concepts to analyse media products and their various contexts
-
prepare for study in a range of disciplines at National Qualifications Framework Level 3 and above.
