Punctuality Policy

‘Lateness’ is defined as arrival to a lesson or registration five minutes after the scheduled start time. We will take a ‘No Excuses’ approach in most circumstances.

For the first time you late you will be warned by the teacher. The Teacher will note that a warning has been given by recording a symbol in the register.

If there is a problem pattern of lateness namely two or more lates per week:

  • Student will be interviewed by the Director of Sixth Form;
  • Student will be placed in late detention.

If lateness persists:

  • A formal  letter will be sent to student/parent/carer/social worker;
  • A timecard will be issued;
  • All records to be kept on student file.

Students are expected to arrive before 08.30 every day. If you do arrive late it is imperative you sign in at the sixth form reception. Please note this is a Health and Safety requirement.

Students are only allowed off site at break and lunchtime but can finish early if they have no more lessons that day. Students taking advantage of this concession should sign out at the Sixth-Form Reception when leaving. Students needing to leave at any other time must see Ms. Golding.
