Year 9 Students Collaborate with Mercedes-Benz
Thursday, 19th January, 2012
On Tuesday 17th January, a group of fifteen Year 9 students travelled to the Mercedes-Benz UK main premises in Wentworth Park, Barnsley.
All students had an excellent day, during which they got the chance to actually drive 2 Mercedes-Benz vehicles around the sight and got to experience a ride in a very rocky ‘all terrain’ truck.
After all the fun and games the students got down to some serious business with members of the Mercedes-Benz team. Each group of students were given a Mercedes-Benz Vito (worth a massive £10 000!) which they must customize to make it ‘dual purpose’.

The students are already becoming very competitive with each other over who will win the coveted prize of having their Vito sold in Mercedes-Benz showrooms all over the UK.
All of the students showed Manchester Academy in the best light possible and are surely on their way to becoming excellent business men and women! Everyone is looking forward to the next stage of the project in which each group must decide on the customisations that they want for their van!
