Children in Need

Friday, 25th November 2011

Our students and staff were involved in various activities throughout the week beginning Monday, 14th November until Friday, 18th November to help raise as much money as possible for this year’s Children in Need.

These activities included:

Guess How Many Sweets Are in Jar? – for 50 pence a go, students and staff took turns in making their guesses and the winner of the jar was Year 9 West, courtesy of a correct by our PE teacher, Mr Sealy.

Pudsey’s Bike Ride – for £3 a guess and the prize of a Christmas hamper on offer, staff participated in predicting where Pudsey would eventually end up on the night of Children in Need. Congratulations to Ms McNally, our Science teacher who had the correct guess with Wigan.

Odd Jobs – during the whole week, at form time and lunch time, we had some wonderful student volunteers helping their teachers with various tasks such as tidying up classrooms in exchange for a cash donation.

Car Wash – we also had a car wash, at a cost of £5 each, where students washed their teachers’ cars.

Cake Sale (& a Lucky Dip) – finally, we held a cake sale, that all sold very quickly at 50p each. Many thanks to Mr Wilfred, Ms Khurshid, Mr Sealy and Ms Hunkins for all their help in preparing and selling the cakes to students and staff.

Thank you very much to everyone that donated throughout the week to help raise £270 in total.

The students really enjoyed themselves and really got stuck in to help out so I think they deserve a mention: Nathan Stuttard, Connor Maguire, Shaquille Liburd, Capri Dore and Shamsa Dinbill.
