Literacy
"Students make excellent progress in developing the basic skills they need, especially in literacy." [Ofsted 2009]
The development of literacy skills is very important to us here at Manchester Academy.
We have a dedicated team of teachers in the English department who make sure that learning to read is high on the agenda of all the planning and preparation we do.
But more than that, all our staff in every department make sure they teach literacy skills no matter what the topic,so all students are continually learning new vocabulary and developing new reading skills.
"To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first."
[William Shakespeare]
