Make It Enterprising Schools Challenge

In October 2009 eight year 10 students took part in the Make It Enterprising Schools Challenge.

The event was jointly sponsored by The Manufacturing Institute and The Hyde Group, one of the Tameside areas top employers and a world leading manufacturer.

Naima took on the role of a logistics manager, she commented “ It was fun,  hard work. I would recommend the event to other students”.

Tanya commented, “ It was good to develop team work skills and learn how to create a business plan, I had a great day”. Alex said, “The event was excellent, I was able to improve my team communication skills and work in a manufacturing role, I found the day challenging and interesting”.

Simiso enjoyed the opportunity to compete with other schools and saw the event as a good way to improve her skills for future employability. Titilayo was able to model how she will work as a team in her future career and rose to the challenges with maturity and enthusiasm.

All the students who took part were a credit to the Academy and should be proud of their involvement and team work! Well done!
