On Tuesday, 20th March 2007 the sixth formers at Manchester took part in a pioneering event.

• This was a video conference with Bedford School and Bristol University on the subject of Social Policy.

• The students were able to see, hear and talk in real time to staff and students at the other participating educational institutes.

• Janice Collin, Head of ICT said, "The students found it really interesting as it allowed our students to discover other areas that they had not discussed before with people they would otherwise have had not been able to.
  
  After the link our students were chatting away about the topics and went home to discuss the day with their families and so were able to bring in the wider community".

Here's hoping this is the first of many!
