Chairman Welcome

As Chairman of the United Learning Trust (ULT), the managing body for Manchester Academy, I am proud to be part of this exciting new initiative in Manchester.

At ULT, we believe that every child deserves the best possible education regardless of whichever sector they are educated in. ULT runs a growing group of Academies, including two new developments at Lambeth and Northampton. 

Manchester Academy students, staff and parents will benefit from being part of this wider group through, for example, the sharing of good educational practice, the use of common ICT platforms, economies of scale and the stability offered by an organisation with a long-term commitment to education in the UK.

As a member of ULT, founded on Christian principles, the aim for the Academy is to be a place of learning with a clear spiritual and moral dimension. In a community of diverse backgrounds and ethnicity, a key goal will be to ensure that the faiths of all students are respected and valued and that students of all faiths, and none, find the Academy a welcoming and happy place in which to learn.
