Year 5 Vocational Week [Hospitality and Catering Week]
St Mary's Primary School
Once again the Year 5 Hospitality and Catering week was a great success.
This year, the Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students from Manchester Academy led the programme.
They visited the following hotels:
At Pizza Hut, Pizza Express and Sweet Mandarin the pupils made pizzas while at Dim sum they learned how businesses worked.
St Mary's students came to Manchester Academy and were introduced to technical vocabulary and the skills that are needed to success in Hospitality and Catering.
At the hotels, the pupils worked with many people and learned about the different jobs available, such as:
- Receptionist
- Housekeeper
- Maintenance Person
- Hotel Manager
On the last day, Manchester Academy and St Mary's students made afternoon tea for staff and parents.
