Teenage Judges Competition 2008

Booktrust, the independent national charity that encourages reading launched a short story competition for teenagers aged between 11 and 16.

• The Science curriculum area incorporated National Year of Reading 2008 into their six week project on rockets. The students completed various tasks based on their own short stories about going into space to visit another planet.

• The short stories were entered into the Teenage Judges Competition 2008. The final week consisted of the students making and launching rockets!

• Students also wrote their own stories and told them in the style of the popular long running TV series, Jackanory.
