Waterwheel Project

On March 11 after school, five members of the Waterwheel Project team were presented with their winning trophy by the Bishop of Manchester.

  • On March 7, Christopher Andrew and Marc Adigun gave a scintillating presentation on behalf of H2O Revolution to a distinguished panel of judges and an audience of approximately 150 at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The two presenters summarised the teams work and imaginative design of a waterwheel.
  • It was a very entertaining morning with all schools performing extremely well on the day. After each school had delivered their final presentations the judges left the room to deliberate. They returned fifteen minutes later to announce Manchester Academy had stolen the show.
  • Their presentation and design was "top draw" and scoring 155 points was head and shoulders above the competition. Stamford and Cedar Mount finished joint runners up with 141 points whilst Littlemoss, Parklands, Mellands and Brookway High Schools were left in the water.
  • This whole project was a great opportunity for a team of pupils to work together towards a common goal and develop communication, team building and presentational skills - our Year 9s were "outstanding" and impeccably behaved from start to finish.
