On World Aids Day, (1st December 2005), staff and students of Manchester Academy bought 250 badges in 20 minutes and raised £250 for Kidzpositive.
On Valentines Day, (14th February 2006), more beaded badges with hearts in were sold and raised another £250.


All the money goes to Kidzpositive in Cape Town, South Africa to help mums who are HIV/AIDS make and sell the badges. The funds also cater for treatment and sadly funerals.


Kidzpositive works in Cape Town, South Africa to provide the following:
- Ward G25 AT Groote Schuur - Continuous and comprehensive care for children affected by HIV/AIDS;
- Positive Beadwork Project - Providing income to support families affected by HIV/AIDS;
- One To One Children's Fund - Delivering highly active retroviral therapy to indigent South African children;


- The picture ooposite illustrates one of the mums creating the badges in South Africa.


- 225 badges have already been sold but there are 25 more
beautiful Valentine badges remaining available for £1 each.
