Introduction

• Early in 2006 several Manchester Academy students went on a trip visiting a few popular educational sites within the vicinity of the Academy.

• The students then created a presentation documenting the trip.

• As we were walking along Oxford Road we saw many beautiful and impressive buildings, including:

• The Whitworth Art Gallery

• Manchester Royal Infirmary

• In Manchester there are really cheap buses into the city centre

• The University of Manchester...

• ...and the Holy Name Church amongst other places

• We want to show you one of our local theatres - The Contact Theatre.

• It is a live art style environment influenced by cultures all around the world.

• Here is an example of some of the art work displayed on the corridors of the Contact Theatre.

• We met the actors again outside.

• They were really cool and hey allowed us to get out picture taken with them.

• We visited a few more places during the trip including the museum and saw many things we had never seen before. We learnt all about the human body and pre-historic animals and much more.
