Museums Are Cool!

On your doorstep lies a world of wonder and excitement! Manchester Museum first opened in 1888 and possesses a staggering 4.25 million specimens and objects.
- It has many displays to that you will definitely find
interesting including Animal Life; Archaeology; Ancient Egypt;
Living Cultures; Prehistoric Life; Rocks and Minerals; Science for
Life; even a T-Rex called Stan!
The Manchester Museum provides a great learning experience and unique opportunities for pupils to engage with collections and experts across a variety of subjects. All this on your door step, a twelve minute walk, why miss it?

- At the moment they have a new display on called the Lindow Man.
The discovery of the preserved body of a man in a peat bog at
Lindow Moss, Cheshire, in 1984 raised as many questions as
answers.
At first the discovery of the body was treated as a murder enquiry by the Cheshire Police but if he had been murdered and there is grisly evidence to support this theory, his assailant died thousands of years ago. Still to this day the man at the centre of the story remains a mystery!!!!
Like that's not interesting enough the new exhibition provides seven different perspectives on the life and death of the Lindow Man. Which one will you choose?
- The Academy Confidential team will be visiting the museum on
your behalf to find out more fab facts about this world famous
place. Why not beat them to it and visit? And what is
even better - it's all free!
