Students of the Future Pay a Visit

Heald Place Primary School students visiting Manchester Academy

On Monday 23rd June Manchester Academy welcomed the students of Heald Place Primary School.

The purpose of their visit was to carry out a number of IT and media related tasks including the creation of web pages and video diaries.

Each student created their individualised webpage and a video clip to complement it. The students were impressive.

They were extremely articulate as they spoke about their lives including their favourite foods and sports and what makes them happy and sad.

Their IT skills were clearly in evidence as they completed many of the tasks set in the time allotted.

They will be returning over the following weeks to complete the project.

The webpage will also contain subject related areas to help their study should they decide to attend Manchester Academy.

From the positive feedback it would appear that many of the students will be part of our new, Year 7 intake.

They were greatly impressed by the school's facilities including the computer suites and software.

This project, led by Janice Collin includes two other schools including Webster Primary School.

Not only was it a fun learning experience for all involved it was a fantastic way to showcase all our school has to offer.
