Borsch
The traditional Russian recipe. Brought to you by Herman F.
To make borsch you need:
- 225g cooked beetroot, peeled and cut into small strips
- 350 g white cabbage, shredded
- 350 g potatoes, peeled and cut into small pieces
- 1 large onion, peeled and chopped
- 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds
- 2 1/2 pints of chicken stock
- Salt and pepper
- Some whipped cream


Method:
- Put stock and beetroot into the boil and let it simmer gently
for 20 - 30 minutes
- Add the cabbage, potatoes, onion and the caraway seeds, let it
simmer for another 20 - 30 minutes
- Add herbs, a touch of salt, pepper and other seasoning for
taste.
- Serve with cream on top, and a touch of herbs.
