Indoor Athletics Championship

Earlier this month [November 2007], Mr Sealy took a number of students from the Year 10 and 11 athletics team to participate in the Manchester Indoor Athletics competition.
Students from schools all over Manchester piled into the Sport City complex to take part, so there was stiff competition.
Competing against grammar schools and sports colleges, Manchester Academy gave a stunning performance and sailed through in second place to the greater Manchester regional finals. This insured that they qualified to represent Manchester at the Greater Manchester regional finals.
At this stage of the competition the Academy came up against schools from areas such as Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Oldham and many more.

Outstanding performances from the likes of Ashan Khan in the hurdles, Iffy Amusan in the 60m sprint, Nathan Reil in the High Jump and Lewis Speakman in the Long Jump insured that Manchester Academy came top of the table and were crowned Greater Manchester Schools Champions with an overall win.
