The Garden Project
Some KS3 Academy students chose an allotment space and wrote letters for funding for tools and seeds. Ms Wallen led the project.
Below is what happened next.

There is something happening at Manchester Academy. Something BIG.
Manchester Academy Garden Project!!!
The project seeks to build and create an allotment/garden in our school. There we plan to plant flowers and different vegetables.
This project will not just end there as the garden will need constant care and maintenance to keep it in shape.
The project is being run by a combined team of Year 9s, 8s and Year 7s and will transform the way we see healthy eating and green ways to garden in our school.

There is also business potential of this project. We can grow crops and later we can sell them. We may also use them for the school canteen.
Our garden will take shape behind the school near the staff car park. Right now we are looking for companies to sponsor and help us with the project. When we get enough funding we will start buying equipment and tools for our garden.
As our skills develop we will be able to plant more complicated and harder to care-after plants which although are hard to look after, they will enhance the look of our garden.
There will be more updates as the project progresses.
