Top BBC Producer Drops In

Top BBC producer Margaret Burgin visited Manchester Academy earlier this month to work with the four lucky students who were to appear on BBC Radio Manchester.
The workshop involved reading lots of different types of newspapers including The Sun and The Times and finding the most interesting news stories for that day.
Ms Burgin an experienced news reporter now spends a great deal of time travelling between Sheffield, Liverpool and Manchester to work on BBC news programmes.

She was also interested in local issues including the lack of youth facilities and the poor transport system we have in this area.
She was extremely interested in the Academy Confidential portal and wished us good luck with it. She said that she was really impressed with the Academy set-up and the enthusiasm of the students she worked with.
However she hoped they would not be taking her job as they seemed very capable journalists!
