BBC News School Report

On Thursday, March 22, 2007, Manchester Academy was one of 100 schools around the country taking part in the BBC School Report News Day.
- The BBC News School Report gave 12 and 13-year-olds around the UK the chance to make their own news at school and to broadcast it via the internet.
- Working to a deadline, students taking part in News day used reports they had prepared in advance and reports produced on the day - just like BBC journalists.
- The BBC News School Report day was an unbelievable experience for everybody involved. The students were fantastic. Their enthusiasm and dedication to the activities was tangible and was commented on by many, many people over the day.
- Manchester Academy was the only school to finish all the set tasks and as a result were the school that the BBC chose to interview in greater depth as seen on Newsround broadcast on Thursday, March 22, 2007.
