International Schools
Manchester Academy: International Schools
Manchester Academy gained full international status as from Sept 2006. We have links with schools in Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago and South Africa.
- The school had to show that work was embedded across the curriculum.
- Students and staff also had the opportunity to visit Sweden in 2005.
- Meanwhile a teacher from Trinidad and Tobago visited the academy in November 2006.
The International Schools award was officially presented to Jane Delfino at the DFES Awards ceremony on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 by Jonathan Dimbleby.

International Schools Progress
- We have had return visits to Sweden by staff and students and have shared projects.
- We are bidding for staff to visit Trinidad and Tobago to further embed curriculum work.
- We are running sports and tourism projects with these schools..

International Schools Noticeboard
In January 2008 we were lucky to have visitors from Spain and
Sweden.
- They met with the ULT Business and Enterprise co-ordinators to talk about enterprise in their countries.
- We have written a Leonardo bid and will hear in May whether or not we have been successful.
- This will allow 20 staff to visit Spain and Sweden in order to develop enterprise.
