Manchester Academy student Khadijah Mahmood’s powerful poem ‘Fierce Enemy’ has seen her win the regional final of a prestigious poetry competition.
Manchester Academy celebrated their European Day of Languages on Friday, 2nd October. There were many activities taking place, and even some teachers dressed up!
Year 11 GCSE Spanish students visit Medlock primary to help out with Spanish week
After over a year's worth of fund raising, 15 students studying Spanish GCSE finally managed to visit the south of Spain in September 2015. Their hard work finally paid off.
On Thursday 25th June, the Flying Theatre Company put on a brilliant show in French and Spanish to help enhance the language skills of our students.

Last June, the EAL (English As a second Language) and MFL (Modern Foreign Languages) teams helped pupils from Year 7 to Year 13 to enter a national poetry competition.
Manchester Academy has always attended Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) events such as campus tours and ‘getting to know the university’ days. These continue today.
Year 9 and Year 10 students took part in a German exchange project with Korntal Gymnasium in Stuttgart this year. The project was titled Come Dine with Me where English students were able to learn about German foods, cook them and eat them.
