Summer Half Term
This term, the Year 7 artists have been making clay tiles inspired by the work of the 20th century contemporary Austrian artist, Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Manchester Academy students hit the right notes as part of the world’s largest school choir
On Thursday, 22nd December, Year 8 students had a comic book workshop with the wonderful Marvel cartoonist, Kev Sutherland.
On Friday, 27th May and Friday 17th June, sixty Year 7 students worked towards their Arts Award by completing a screen-printing workshop with Manchester based artist, Sally Gilford.
Miss Ratcliffe and Miss Jones undertook a Batik bandana-making workshop with a group of Year 10 Art and Textile students.
Students gave up their Saturday to take part in some street art workshops on the 13th February!
On Tuesday 10th of November Year 10 BTEC Art and GCSE Textiles students took part a Tale of Two Cities workshop.
On Tuesday, 3rd November, a group of eighteen Year 10 students visited the National Wildflower Centre in Liverpool to take part in the '...Tale of Two Cities' project.
Yet again I am very proud of my Year 11’s. They have all completed fantastic final products and folders, which have been submitted as part of their GCSE Textiles coursework. Well done!
